DANIELSON, Roy Allen (1917-2010) - THE LST-353- A tank landing ship, doors open and receiving cargo. The ship was launched 12 Oct 1942 and was destroyed by an internal explosion on 21 May 1944.  It was struck from the Naval Register on 18 Jul 1944.

Roy Allen Danielson (1917-2010) was assigned to this boat as a Marine when it exploded during the West Loch Disaster at Pearl Harbor,HI. He received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism for the lives he saved.
